The Graphite Arrows
There was a fad, at one time, for carving pencils with a surgical scalpel to produce tiny little graphite sculptures. Could I illustrate this?
I had recently finished the construction, in Cinema 4D, of a BAe Hawk aircraft which is flown by the Red Arrows formation aerobatic team. This model formed the basis of the image; all I had to do was ‘carbonise’ it’! The ‘smoke’ was also created in Cinema and composited into the scene.
Naturally, as the ‘Reds’ are a team, so should the ‘Blacks’ be a team and they are seen here pulling up into a loop in line-abreast formation!
